EUCE Scholar-in-Residence Award

With the support of the European Commission and the International Programs Office, the EU Center of Excellence (EUCE) offers on a competitive basis, funding support for a scholar in Europe to do research at Texas A&M University for a period of up to 3 months in areas of common interest to the EU and the US. The grant covers round-trip airfare, and accommodation and subsistence expenses amounting up to $8,700.

Applicants must have an academic host among Texas A&M University's colleges/departments where he/she will be conducting research. NO APPLICANT WILL BE CONSIDERED WITHOUT AN ACADEMIC HOST. Other requirements for the award recipient include:

  • To conduct academic research at Texas A&M University based on the submitted proposal for at least thirty (30) consecutive days.
  • To give at least one public lecture sponsored by the EUCE during his/her stay at Texas A&M University, and participate in other academic and outreach initiatives as requested.
  • To submit a paper manuscript to the EUCE – following its submission guidelines – no later than sixty (60) days after the scholar’ stay at Texas A&M University. The manuscript, which will be considered for online publication by the EUCE, could be a revision of a previously published manuscript and must be written in a manner that is accessible to a wider audience.

The award funds must be used before August 31, 2008, and cannot be transferred to the academic host unit. The use of the funds must follow the strict disbursement guidelines from the grant funding agencies.
